The Bike And The Scooter

I am updating more frequently now, so make sure you check below for other newer posts. I can't promise that this will last... but I do have something to say today.

Yesterday, while riding my bike, I hit a kid (age 4-5) who was on a scooter. I am laughing about it now, but at the time I was really irritated. Technically it was his fault... but I suppose some could say it was mine because bikes are not allowed on the sidewalks here. ANYWAY. I was crossing the street and about to go up the ramp onto a sidewalk. This mother and a baby girl were standing at the corner waiting for the light to change. Then I noticed that a little boy on a scooter was with them. He comes from behind them... I am nearly to the ramp I need to go up to get on the sidewalk with them. He is facing me and I think, "He is going to stop." Because the thing is if he doesn't stop he will 1. hit me or 2. go flying into the busy street. So I start pedaling up the ramp and the kid comes full speed ahead straight at me down the ramp. We collide head on. So I jumped off my bike, and held onto the handle bars... lucky for that kid because I saved him from going into the street. The mother turned around and said, "Oh I am so sorry... I am so sorry..." I just mumbled, "It's okay," and hopped back on my bike. I was too shocked to say much more than that because it could have ended a lot worse. I could have actually hurt the kid (he was fine) I could have gotten hurt or the kid could have gone into the street and gotten hit by a car. Yikes!

Also, I have been watching Dancing With The Stars and Aaron Carter was kicked off last night. I totally do not agree with that decision. He was an awesome dancer!

Randi,
I can't believe you smoked a little kid on your bike. Yikes! Sounds like the MOTHER'S fault for not watching where her kid was riding, especially if they were right next to the road. Glad everyone is okay though.
